The Devine Fracture trilogies, Dr. Jim Fullen’s latest novel
takes the story in a different direction.
The Far Side of Time is a standalone science-fiction novel
built around discovery, mystery, and the consequences of encountering
something beyond humanity’s understanding.
It is another exploration of the questions that continue to shape
Fullen’s fiction: what happens when the impossible becomes real,
how people respond when their understanding of the world changes,
and what choices remain when knowledge carries consequences of its own.
The novel joins Asylum Earth, Restoration,
The Right to Refuse, and The Long Silence as part
of Fullen’s growing collection of standalone science-fiction novels.
The Devine Fracture Trilogy Is Complete
What began as one story grew into three novels—and a much larger
exploration of intelligence, prediction, power, and human choice.
The Devine Fracture is now complete.
The trilogy begins with The God Limit, continues through
The Fracture of Good, and concludes with
The Devil’s Equation.
Across the three books, the story follows humanity’s growing relationship
with predictive intelligence and the difficult questions that emerge
when systems designed to reduce suffering become capable of influencing
the range of choices still available to the people they were created
to serve.
At the center of the trilogy is a question that becomes increasingly
difficult to answer: what happens when humanity’s ability to act advances
faster than its wisdom to decide whether it should?
Completing the trilogy has allowed that question to unfold across a much
larger story than originally planned, while keeping the focus where I
believe it belongs—on people, choices, consequences, and the future
humanity is willing to create.
The Asteron Chronicles Moves Beyond the Novels
After completing the three-book Asteron saga, the next step is bringing
the story into a new format.
The Asteron Chronicles is now being developed as an episodic
television screenplay adaptation, expanding the story of Daniel Carter,
Emily Walker, and humanity’s discovery of the hidden civilization of
Asteron beyond the novels.
Adapting a book series for television is a different kind of storytelling.
The novels allow readers to spend time inside the characters’ thoughts,
relationships, discoveries, and decisions. A screenplay has to translate
those same moments into scenes, dialogue, images, pacing, and structure
that can work on the screen.
The goal is not to replace the novels, but to find the strongest way to
bring their world to a different audience while preserving the characters,
story, and sense of discovery that define the series.
The adaptation remains in development, and there is still a long road
between a completed screenplay and a television production. But the hope
is that the right opportunity may eventually allow the world of Asteron
to reach the screen.
