ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Dr. Jim Fullen

Science fiction author. Storyteller. Lifelong believer in the power of curiosity.

Dr. Jim Fullen is an author of science fiction and speculative fiction
whose novels explore humanity’s encounters with the unknown—and the
choices that follow.

With a doctorate in Business Administration and a professional career
in the field, Fullen brings an interest in people, organizations,
decision-making, and consequences to stories that reach far beyond
the familiar world.

His fiction combines science, discovery, human relationships, and
questions of responsibility while remaining grounded in
character-driven storytelling.

THE STORY BEHIND THE STORIES

An Unexpected Journey into Writing

Writing was not the career Dr. Jim Fullen originally set out to pursue.
With a doctorate in Business Administration and a professional career
in the field, his path to becoming an author began much later—and in
an unexpected place.

In 2024, Fullen wrote his first book, a children’s story titled
George the Wayward Dolphin. What began as a creative project
soon opened the door to something much larger.

By 2025, writing had become a serious pursuit. The stories grew larger,
the questions became more ambitious, and science fiction became a
natural home for the ideas he wanted to explore.

A longtime admirer of stories such as Star Trek,
Star Wars, Guardians of the Galaxy, and
Avatar, Fullen has always been drawn to worlds that make the
impossible feel possible. But what interests him most is not simply
the technology, distant planets, or civilizations beyond Earth.

It is what those discoveries reveal about us.

WHY SCIENCE FICTION?

Curiosity is where the story begins.

What if the world is larger, stranger, and more connected than we imagine?

For Jim Fullen, science fiction begins with curiosity. The genre offers
an opportunity to travel beyond the familiar, encounter civilizations
unlike our own, and imagine discoveries that could fundamentally change
what humanity believes about itself and its place in the universe.

But discovery is only the beginning. His stories are also interested in
what people do once the impossible becomes real—how they respond to fear,
uncertainty, responsibility, trust, and one another.

Above all, the goal is to tell an engaging story. If readers finish the
final page entertained, curious about what might actually be possible,
and perhaps thinking about humanity a little differently, then the story
has accomplished what it set out to do.

I want readers to enjoy the journey, but I also want them to wonder
what might be possible—and what our choices say about who we are.

BEYOND THE WRITING DESK

Life beyond the stories.

Dr. Jim Fullen makes his home in Tennessee, where life away from writing
provides its own opportunities for exploration. He enjoys camping,
traveling, and cruising—experiences that satisfy much of the same
curiosity that finds its way into his fiction.

Whether the destination is somewhere on Earth or somewhere imagined far
beyond it, the appeal is much the same: seeing what lies beyond the
familiar and discovering what might be waiting around the next corner.

WHAT I’M WORKING ON NOW

Taking Asteron from the page to the screen.

The story that began on Mars is entering a new form.

The Asteron Chronicles is currently being developed as an
episodic television screenplay adaptation, translating the journey of
Daniel Carter and Emily Walker—and humanity’s discovery of the hidden
civilization of Asteron—from the novels to the screen.

Adapting the trilogy for television offers an opportunity to experience
the story differently: the first mission to Mars, the discovery beneath
its surface, the growing relationship between two civilizations, and
the choices that ultimately shape the futures of both worlds.

The screenplay adaptation is currently in development, with the hope
that the right opportunity will one day bring the world of Asteron to
television audiences.
